1st trip out for the year. History tells me no bass for at least 3 weeks so I ran outside of the bay to my go-to, inshore, ocean hump. Fish widely scattered, but the 1st time I got over a school pulled up a double of small cod.

Continued to move around and drop for another hour and got this larger one @ 24"

Lines in the water for 1 hr, 4 cod from 8 - 24", 2 micro pollock.

Beautiful, quick AM trip, only "problem" was the piss tube needing a reaming, little flow even though the impeller was replaced in the fall. Grabbed my on-board piss tube cleaning piece of wire and "The Force" was with him.

Nice start to the season...

Been back 2x, having some better luck. Interesting thing was last when I had a dead calm day and some great fishing, catching 9, 5 of them would be "keepahs" come Sept 1-15. Had a couple of double headers like this:

Sounder was slightly active the bite was on, but when the machine lit up, as shown below, the fish had lock jaw, who'd a thunk it??

Got back this AM, a bit windy so I couldn't stay over the fish long, picked up 3 fish and dropped one in 15 min, but it was too much work positioning the boat so I headed back to the barn...
