The week after 911, I was offshore f tuna fishing hudson canyon, we got buzzed by 2 F18's, was quite the sight.
At least NY got to see them, albeit not all of NY but hey CT, we watched on the TV.

Watched them fly over Stony Brook University Hospital, turn hard left and snapped the photos just as they got over the water. You can see the Thunderbirds just turned off the smoke trails.
