When I was living briefly in south FL in the early 70's there were many forms of Grunt we used to catch in the intercoastal waterway. Some of the locals used to refer to one form as a "Shellcracker" and another was known as a "Stumpknocker".
I don't recall being able to tell the difference between the 2 but I thought the local colloquial names were pretty funny.

Benny - I couldn't agree more. If porgies got to the size of large tog, I would never tog fish. . . At 2lbs they're good fighters, at 15lbs they'd be awesome!
