So are the parking lots open for us to fish the surf? I have not been able to find a good answer to this and I live a decent clip away to make a trip only to find the beaches are not accessible. Thanks in advance for any information.

Beaches are still open, and considering that they are encouraging Folks to get solitary excersize, I think fishing is allowed.
i have a buddy fishing a north shore beach right now, and I’m planning on heading out later today

Jones beach and Robert Moses beaches are Wide open and ready to fish
the testing at Jones is only the West End area, the East end (field 6) has no impact and in fact has a lot of visitors

Hi. Unaware of what's doing on Long Island beaches. Gateway { Great Kills Park} on Staten Island is opened for for most activities including fishing. The Ranger stations are closed and therefore you cannot purchase a parking permit which allows access to Crookes Point and the harbor for fishing. Wondering if they will allow fishermen with last season's permit to park in those areas? Please remember to practice social distancing when enjoying the outdoors. Be safe and healthy.

Most are, all the state park beaches are open
A few, like Atlantic Beach are closed
