Up and over the 700 signed-up members threshold, I mean!

It was something of a tough go, but we got there. I am aware that little Markie Z's site sees more hits than that per millisecond, but go try to find the kind of "NYAngler-type"detailed info that's regularly posted here over on that monstrosity of a site. Not gonna happen. Not to mention the snarkyness that absolutely infests some of the more widely read fishing pages over there. I know I could live without that.

What I find interesting is that at any given time there are typically 30-60 people reading this site, and yet the split members to "guests" is along the lines of 10 to 40. I have no problem with the peeps that come here to read, hey, that's why I write my thread-starting posts. But why not join our site as a member, which gives one the right to post, ask questions, poke good-natured fun at certain members (no one in particular in mind), not to mention being able to see our posted images in full rez, instead of as itty-bitty thumbnails?

So I'm reaching out to you guys that do like to come here, but haven't as yet signed up as members. Please do join, become a member. Let's grow this site! We've made it though a solid first year. Now the goal is to become a true go-to primary source of fishing/boating and other such info - but it can only happen with a continued growth in member participation.

If there is something you'd like to see more of, if you have some question about fishing gear or technique, don't be shy about posting! There will be someone here that can give you good info, that can help improve your game. That's what this site is really about.

Trust me, no one can ever get rich curating a fishing website - especially one that doesn't accept advertising. That wasn't why George decided to give it another go, and spent (and still spends) a TON of hours behind the scenes breathing life into this site. Nope, he did it for the love of the sport and his enjoyment of participating in the back and forth dialog created by quality posts, from the membership.

So come on lurkers, become members, help us move this site to the forefront of local fishing interwebs info sources! I promise that we value your participation. Oh, and to youze guys that have signed on and do post - honestly, THANK YOU!
