Well. Maybe. Dumb answer, I know. I honestly don’t think there’s much difference either way, when using an inshore-intended rod. I've spent a ton of time the past few seasons with a Jigging World Ghost Hunter in my hand, and liked that rod a lot, so I went with the spiral wrap on the charter special as well. I think MAYBE the line follows a moderate rod’s action a bit better with a spiral wrap, but I can’t really prove it, not having two identical rods wrapped straight up/spiral to compare.

All this virus crap has me blah...but not today...two vendors I wanted to see at NJ EXPO blackhole rods and Backwaterbaits sent me what I ordered post cancellation and they arrived today.... 2 charter specials...various blackfish jigs...4 white and 6 pink 1/4 oz poison tails.....I'm giddy as all heck

Saaaaweet! Wait 'til you see how nice the "bend" is in those Charter Specials. They truly ARE "special." And you have the "right" reels for them, as well. You are set for this season.

Those baits and GULP! lead heads you bought? Also very nice! That supply is good for maybe 1.5 trips where I fish. And that's with me paying attention! God forbid I spend 5 seconds admiring another boat, or looking at my sonar. Good as gone! ?

Don't forget the Dick's/Field & Stream GULP! sale should be coming up soon! At least in past seasons it always did happen in the late Spring. That's the time to stock up!

lep,,my blanks came yesterday,,no update on the USPS site just showed up...blanks are nice " charter special " I"m doing one spin savvy wants to check the other out .Kil did a really nice job on this one..not a fan of the other inshore blank have them just ok IMO..But the charter specials really nice .
