I like how she talks about our contribution to the economy. Not to mention I fish that reef ๐

At least they are making an effort and doing something to try and help......
Absolutely, but why or why do they insist on opening their trap, putting a huge "KICK ME" sign on their backs? Just shows that the staffers who prepare those speeches don't have a clue about reality...

Both of the last 2 comments are on the mark. At least, in this case, the politicians are doing something positive. However, I also agree that most politicians should keep there mouths shut as much as possible, especially about subjects they know little to nothing about. Actually that would be almost any subject!!
BTW Roccus, the "new species" you believe she was referring to is actually known in the old Brooklyn neighborhoods as the Coney Island Whitefish! Plenty of those still swimming around our waters. free from size or bag limits๐

So, a politician is actually right for once in their life!
Actually from a mathematical perspective that sounds about right!

Not that it's at all important, but in the Town of Crookhaven, they were "Jellyfish" and I must testify to the better accuracy of that name. Was thigh high in the water fishing at first light one morning an said to myself, "Boy that's an interesting jellyfish over there." As the light increased, I was able to ID the "creature" as Trojanus gigantici.
