Silver Point County Park Access

I’ve always been chased out there quickly and told by security guards that it’s not actually a county park (despite what it says on google maps) and instead is a private beach club.

Security is in unmarked cars and without uniform, had a weird feeling about them as both times I tried years apart they didn’t identify themself and just pulled up abruptly and said I had to leave. They used to chase me out of there in 2-3 minutes tops despite my perception of entering undetected.

Interesting....unmarked cars? No uniform? Is that really security? Did you ask them for credentials? Sounds like a local person or persons who want the place to themselves. I would also check with Suffolk County to see where the boundary is. Then I would tell your visitor that until a Suffolk County official pulls up, I am not moving.Or I would call Suffolk County Parks on my cell in their presence.

Oh and also to your point.......there is a beautiful wooded area in Fort Salonga with a large fresh water pond. The citizens have campaigned and won a series of no parking signs every 100 feet or so and NO ONE has access to this pond. Suffolk County should provide access points to their parks. The Pond is Called Fresh Pond. I never see anyone fishing and there must be bass the size of gorillas in there.

you can buy and out of season parking permit, which, I believe is good starting in October and thru April 15
They sell them at the entrance

no chance to get them in season though
