Captain Richie new cts blackfish jigger Atlantic Custom Rods bj701xl Review

Yesterday took a trip to Rhode Island on the Sound Bound Charters Fleet and caught this beautiful male 13.4oz pound tog which was safely released using the new cts blackfish jigger bj701xl designed by Captain Richie Atlantic Custom Rods.This brute was caught on in 100’ of water. Setup: cts blackfish jigger bj701xl spinner, sustain 4000xg spooled with 20lb sufix832 braid. Review: the rod perform beautifully correct bend soft tip, n shuts off mid range in the blank. With this rod that blackfish had no chance. Thanks again Richie for designing this unique blank which gave me the opportunity to catch my personal best on a jig. I highly recommend the cts blackfish jigger bj701xl blank for any angler serious about blackfish jigging

Congrats on a job well done . Especially giving the big boy another chance. I have fished with Capt Richie and he is one of the best fishing captains anywhere, bar none. He is building a cod rod for me for deep water drops and next week I will be field testing your blackfish jigger for myself. Your report and testimonial pretty much already convinced me. First off congratulation on that Pig on a jig...Not easy to catch a fish that size in 100' with such a small jig...

The rod I built Ed is a CTS custom design BJ 701...its designed to fish 1 to 4oz jigs and has the correct tip , bend & backbone for this type of fishing..when I design a rod blank I look at the task & design a blank to fill it...I like to pinpoint the way were fishing ..Not a general rod the way 99% of rod blanks are made..

I have two new BJ 701 for jig fishing also two new slow pitch blanks for those of us who like that softer feel..CTS is at the top of the food chain in rod blanks & I know that they come at a price..

I also offer UC blanks that also work very well at a better price point..as you can tell Im a big fan of helix rod blanks..and do R&D on new blanks I design..

I fished the BJ 700 standard all day yesterday with 6oz and fished to 6.5 pounds with ease...Big Ray nailed a 11lbs with the BJ 701 lite 1.5oz jig in 100' ..

two new CTS blanks one is in a heavy slow pitch.great for deep water jigging and tog fishing when its a bit bumpy out...and one on the way ..New BJ blank with heavy backbone & lighter tip..Unlike most heavy graphite blanks that have super hard tips ..

Is the BJ 701 beter for jig fishing for Tog than the BJ 700 I guess
