Hi, I just bought a 36ft tri cabin and it's docked at Edgewater Marina nj. I need to take the boat for winter storage at Liberty Harbor Marina but I don't have the skills to dock and un dock the boat from slip. So, I'm looking for help. I want some experienced boater to help me take the boat to the Marina. I'd really appreciate if someone could help.
Thanks,
mdi

Contact the management at the local marina. Tell them you are looking for a professional captain for some help. It might pay to hire someone for a day to help you learn the new boat and the new area.
Thanks Aquarius. I'll call the marina and see if they have anyone to help.

mdi, in addition, start looking for a Boating Safety course in your area. Power Squadron and USCGA should be giving them over the winter. Pick up a copy of Chapman's Piloting and Seamanship as well. If you can afford that boat, you can afford the book. Invaluable. and Congrats on the boat !!

I've completed the Boating safety course but I need to spend hands on time with the boat to get familiar with the boat and the Hudson river current patterns.

MDI, did you get your boat moved yet ? 🙂I finally did. It wasn't cheap but it was worth it. I found a captain who helped me move the boat and I also got some docking lessons. Thanks for checking.
Your not from Mount Desert Island are you ?
Just thinking out loud here. 😊

Even the best screw it up once in a while ..........
