Yes ....... I got the notice last Friday. Maybe it could be looked at as a step in the right direction? If it was combined with a minimum fine of maybe 5,000.00 it would a big help.

Here is where anyone that has been selling fish illegally, gets screwed on tags. The same thing happened with striped bass. It's a step in the right direction but I really do hope DEC takes this opportunity to find out how many pots are targetting them. It seems like collecting that data would be simple.

There was heavy pushback on this when I was at the tog hearing. There was also pushback on their 25-fish daily bag limit. Your's truly was at the table when the bill was written, and we managed to make that legislation - not regulation. So it will take a new bill to ever change that. And if my guess is right that there was underreporting going on, they may not even get 25-fish a day.
