Not ideal conditions yesterday with the ever present North East wind, but after being off the water for almost 4 weeks I was hot to go. Arrived at my favorite Sea Bass spot & found instant life, finding keepers would prove to be another story, after over two hours of constant action, only two keepers were on ice. When the tide changed, decided to make a few passes targeting stripers, wind against tide made for difficult conditions. Bumping the boat in & out of gear made for a reasonable drift, & 4 or 5 bluefish before a 30" bass found my bucktail. By then my bad knee had enough & decided to call it a day, a good day.

I assume you were working the Gut for the Bass and Blues, John. If so that's more life than I have seen there in over a week. Well done!

Right place by accident Capt Mike, stumbled into surface action a little west of the Gut, saw the birds and assumed Albies,

Right place by observation and experience. Takes only one bird to look "guilty" and that has put me on fish many times as other boats zip on by........

I agree with Kevin's observation. You have been at this game long enough to help tilt the odds in your favor more often than not!

Thanks very much for sharing, John.
