Anyone tried the Whiffie series from Bubba? Looks like a 6 inch and 8 inch model super thin flexible blade. Seems like it should be great for fluke, porgies etc. Anyone have any experience?

I have the 7" thin fillet knife, it was a gift from a friend. For me the handle is waaay too big and gawky, and the blade doesn't seem to hold the keen edge that I look for from my far less expensive Dexter-Russell knives.

Though I haven't seen it, (because of a strong dislike for using mine), I have heard and read plenty about the inferior Chinesium steel in their blades chipping on bones and such. Just hearsay on my part, but even a casual search turns up plenty on the subject.

yeah i do agree on the handles. I have a few of the other bubba's, not the whiffie though and the only one where the handle matches well is the wide blade stiff knife. The other solution to all of this is just to stick with the dexters....

You can't go wrong with ANY Dexter. I must have 6 or 7, in various types and metal types, and all work GREAT!

And if you haven't tried it, their longer-sized diamond hone is fantastic - and lasts forever. Unlike the cheapie ones from Asia on Flea-Bay.

I had the 7” flexible and I loved it. Dropped it in the water on my last trip out when a customer bumped into me ???

Definitely got my money-worth out of it. I just dug out my white handled dexter Russell’s that I’ll be using for the rest of the season.
