Montauk Heat is Cooling the Bass Bite

Last 3 trips out I had no bass. Fished around False and North bars through the top of the tide and caught a lot of big bluefish. If I stayed until sunrise, I'd pick up a ton of sea bass once the sun was up.
So I switched things up last night and fished the bottom of the tide. This enabled me to get around to Camp Hero and the Browns but I found nothing there. Came back to False for sunrise and caught porgies as well as the blues and sea bass, but still no stripers.
I've got fellow Misfit Kayak Fishing team member "Pistol" Pete Kelly traveling to eastern LI to join me at the Point for the next few days. Maybe the weather that's pushing through will shake things up, because it's been pretty quiet out at Montauk.20190716_060450.webp

No rest for the wicked.
At least the blues are giving the drag a workout.
