New boat in contract and hopefully will be up North on the East End in a few weeks. This new to me boat was lift kept but has a couple of layers of bottom bait on with no barrier coats. I’d like to strip the bottom and start from scratch as she’ll be living in a wet slip up here.
Anyone ever use a local company do do this? How did you find the results?
Thanks all.

I need to get my bottom stripped too. It's on my short list for next year

Years ago before the DEC took over boatyards , I used a pressure washer with a sand blaster attachment , lot of work , wet . loud , spent days crouched under the hull .... took a chisel whacked out 50 or so bubbles and used WEST system to fair in those small holes ....... Late winter early Spring , fished the boat hard shortly after that , that effort solved my issues ..........................

If it was my boat I would prep it for this season and use it. Have the bottom blasted in the fall allowing the hull to dry out over the winter. Next spring do the barrier coat and bottom paint. My two cents.
regards Holty
I'm hoping to do it in the fall
