ASMFC Summer Flounder, Scup and Black Sea Bass Board Approves Status Quo Measures for 2019 Recreational Black Sea Bass Fishery
Arlington, VA – The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission’s Summer Flounder, Scup and Black Sea Bass Management Board approved status quo measures for the 2019 black sea bass recreational fishery (see Table 1). This action is based on the recommendations of its Technical Committee, which found that status quo measures are not likely to exceed the coastwide recreational harvest limit for 2019. Based on the most recent most stock assessment, the stock is estimated to be above the biomass target and not experiencing overfishing.

Thanks for posting. So CT rec anglers pay for a saltwater license and are excluded from the fall fishery. Interesting.

They're there George, the Rec Season with 5 fish from May 19 - Dec 31. The Party/Charter boats (there's that discontinuity again) get an additional 2 fish Sep 1 - Dec 31.

This is the end result of dividing rec anglers and rec anglers fishing from party/charter boats. Very sad.

How do you get that? Private boats get 5 fish from May 19 to Dec. 31st the way I read the chart.

Looks like a better deal for CT private anglers than we have in NY ?
