Looking to go up there for a couple days of Fluke fishing. When do you think is the best month, for BIG FLUKE?

July or August. See my post in the group charters section.

I agree with Mike. It's hard to get those dates as the boats regulars usually have first pick of dates.

When i went it was about 140'. We used lead up to 10 oz. We were on a 6 pack with a wind scock.
If we fish this boat and the drift is fast we could need more weight.

I booked myself and my brother on the Angler out of Hyannis from the Helen H fleet. She is certified for 60 passengers but this is 25 or 26 passenger limited trip. Angler is a 75' triple water jet driven vessel she has nice cruise speed to and from the grounds. Departs 7:00am Monday, July 15, with overnight in Nantucket, returns Hyannis 3:00pm on the 16th. After I booked it I told a friend in the Freeport Tuna Club and within a couple days the remaing 8 slots were booked, so FTC has 10 slots, and the boat is now sold out for that departure.

Anyone have any information of the type rigs they use, hook type size etc? Someone told me they use a lot of Gulp for these big Fluke. Any info would be appreciated.

they like this gulp very much in Nanny land and a hi-lo rig with 7/0 not sure about that boat in particular...I did look into their trips last year but did not go...they let you off the boat to eat when they dock but i guess you sleep on board is that right?

Thanks movetheboat. Yes, you can disembark in Nantucket, go have dinner, drinks, whatever, and return to the boat for some shuteye.

Now I've only fished a six pack that deployed a wind sock. We used lead up to ten ounces. On a bigger boat you may need over sixteen oz. The preferred rig is a high low (chicken) rig with 7/0 hooks. I use 7/0 Gammi Bait Holder. 1/4 oz Backwater Baits Poison Tails have taken many DD fish there. Bait your hooks with 6" Gulp gurbs tipped with fluke strips. I'd make sure I brought fluke strips in case the boat doesn't have them.
