get alot of DOGFISH early summer along the south beaches, some nearly 4 feet. theres alot of meat there to eat, but the shark smell lingers a while. any suggestions... ??? cellfish...

thanks General C, I havent had em in a while cauz i do recall that smell is a distraction, Bet a good Lime marinade may help when i try again this season, heads and guts out right away...

Dogfish are used in England for Fish n' Chips, also in Germany for a beer snack food, and other areas of Europe as well. I don't care for them. If you want to try one, as soon as you remove the hook, while the fish is still alive, clean and fillet it.
Here's my favorite recipe for them, known as cedar plank Dogfish. Lay the fillets on a cedar plank. Drizzle extra virgin olive on top, fresh finely cut garlic, oregano, s&p, and a few tabs of butter. Place in the broiler until cooked. Remove from oven, throw away fillets, eat the cedar plank.
