The most important fish in the sea

Can't stand Sea Shepard! They are the most dangerous people on the sea.
Mike, if you watch the video this is not from Watson's "Sea Shepherd Conservation Society", but the words "Sea Shepherds" are part of the Hawk Road Studios' video entitled "Sea Shepherds: A Night Hunting Giant Tuna". There were 2 giveaways on this besides the punctuation. 1st it shows tuna hunting in a good light, and we all know that Watson's band of Pirates wouldn't be showing that, and it also shows some dead scoters, something that the Sea Shepherd gang wouldn't do either.

Yes Roccus is right. That vid. has Nothing to do with the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (SSCS) is an international non-profit, marine wildlife conservation organization… Established in 1977. This is just about the Joy and excitement of fishing Bluefin on a commercial scale with hook and line.

At the end of the day there isn't much freeboard left on some of those dorys !!
Yep but they don't need much, unlike a common hull, dorys pick up a lot of floation every inch they go down. They will float with a load of fish. (Swamped) Although hard a hell to row. 🙂 (I know you know that.) 😊

Hi,
Hope you are well. Thank you for posting the video of The White Fleet- Portuguese Fisherman. I enjoyed watching it.
My grandfather John de Freitas was born in 1868, Funchal, Madeira in the Azores. I know of him as a 5 year old so I don't know much about him. I was told that at the age of 16 he stowed away on a fishing boat going to the Grand Banks. After a couple days he either gave himself up or was found on board. Eventually he landed in Halifax and took to the land. The only story I remember is that when they hit a bad storm
on the way to the Grounds they made him stand in the bow gave him rosary beads and told him to pray for calm seas.

Hi Cap. Good story indeed. "Gave him rosary beads and told him to pray for calm seas." Yep that's Portuguese ok. 🙂 Hey, maybe we are related 🙂 Both my Gramps and Nana were also born in the Azores. Gramp was born on Faial and not sure where my Nana was born. He was born John Joseph Arruda. He also was a fisherman, Son /Grandson,Great Great Grandson of a Whaler. They came to New Bedford around 1907. He told me so many great stories
that when i was young that's all i could dream about. I'm sure in my former life i was a Whaler. 🙂
