I thought the same thing. I think it's from the mid-50s.

I would have guessed mid to late 40s.

That looks like the 50s. I think there was a law that you had to wear a jacket and hat to every event you went to.

I remember my dad wouldn't go out of the house without his fedora, but I never remember him wearing it while fishing.

Back then loads of blue collar workers would boardthe LIRR and head to Hamptons and Montauk to hit the partyboats to go fishing for the day.

The Moccasin is an open boat than ran out of Altenkirk's Marina in Shinnecock Bay. The photo isn't dated so I haven't a clue when it was taken.
