Government Shutdown Forces Disruptions in February Fisheries Meetings

I don't know about the funding going into the ASMFC, but all the employees that deal with he various issues are employees of the ASMFC or the states, no federal employees work directly (yes there is some interaction with the feds on jointly manage species) for the ASMFC, so I'm guessing things will procede

The February 2019 meeting of the Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council has been cancelled due to the government shutdown. The Council is considering rescheduling some of the planned agenda items for a shorter meeting tentatively scheduled for March 6 and 7 in Virginia Beach. I do "like" the fact that you reported this Mike, but would hate to "Like" a post that brings very disturbing news. I was afraid of this and was going to hit the website this evening to check on it.
