Please before anyone starts with indignant posts here, understand that buying the first bluefin tuna of the New Year is a major cultural coup for a Japanese concern and this very inflated price of $5057 per lb is in no way representative of the true market value of these fish; it is vastly inflated for the purpose of being able to claim this prize for their company's prestige.
