This thread is to point out new features available to you with the software. If you discover something new, post it here. I'll continuously edit the first post as a list of features. If you have an issue/request please don't post to this thread. Questions/Issues, please post your own thread in this forum.
- Photo Gallery. At top of the page under the logo, click Media. he photo gallery can be used instead of a off-site photo upload service to share photos on the web. Max photo size is 5MB so if your photos are larger than that you'll need to resize before you upload. This photo gallery will resize your photos to a light weight file size for easy web sharing. So don't use it to save orignal sized photos.
- You can now tag people in posts. Just type @ and the user name of the person you want to tag. When a member gets tagged they get an alert, so it is a good way to bring a thread to someone's attention. Tags are linked to that member's profile. Hey @george how's it going.
- You can like posts now. To see someone's like total, to their profile by clicking their username.
- Rich text editor. The rich text editor makes it possible for you to see images, bold, underline, etc without having to preview it. Maybe you are used to BBcode editor. When editing a message, top right of the screen click the UseBBcode button. Looks like a cog.
- Multi-Quote. If you want to quote multiple messages, click quote. When your ready to compose your post hit the Insert quote button and all the messages you want to quote will be there. You can then choose which ones you want to insert.
- "Conversations" are the same thing as Private Messages. To delete a message, click leave this conversation.
- Embedded video. Youtube videos will automatically convert in the body of your post when you post. So do vimeo, facebook, metacafe, liveleak, dailymotion. If an auto conversion doesn't happen for you, try the embedded media button directions which are provided after this sample auto converted video
Copy and Paste and Drag N' Drop
Copy and paste or drag and drop photos. Did you know you don't have to upload photos!! Just drag from your computer into your post. Make sure they are less than 5mnb and less than 600x600 pixels wide.
Media Embed from Facebook
Media Embed Button. I tested sharing a video that was uploaded to Facebook. With Youtube, I am able to copy and paste the link and it auto converts. With Facebook it didn't work. So I used the Media embed button. Here are the directions
- The video must be a public post. If you try to share a video from your own profile, you must have your settings already set to public. If you have privacy settings to show your content to only your friends, you will not be able to share past vids on the web.
- Any post that you find elsewhere, copy the url of the video
- Now go to the forums and start a thread or reply.
- Click the ... next to the smilies. Choose media.
- Paste your link
- Voila Your Video is Posted

- If your avatar looks blurry, re-upload it, edit your picture to be 200x200 pixels. Then upload it and it should look much clearer.

Up til today while making edits to previous posts there was an "Edit Silently" box and another box that could be checked to omit the "Edited a few moments ago" tag line that was placed in the lower right hand corner of an edited post. Where did those edit boxes go? And can we get them back? Pete

It's very difficult to spot a hyperlink in a thread with this new format.
for instance
Previously it went to a light blue, I believe it was underlined & was easy to spot.

I'm an old fart and I don't feel I'm being picked on. I think the new URL attach function is FANTASTIC. If you're posting a headline URL, you don't have to bother typing anything in the TEXT line, the new HTML macro plucks the Headline out all by itself.
Now if you want to change the color, just highlight the Link and select the Text Color you want. NBD if you take the time to figure out how to make the system work for you and your needs...
