Frank P and I got out at 5 AM started off in Copiague area. I hooked up instantly that felt pretty good only to lose it halfway up. We continued picking away at hungry fish very aggressive fish for shorts. Got up to the Amityville area and still plucking away. What was annoying are spiny dogs are still roaming the area and on lite gear getting them in and not breaking your rig is a chore. The slip gut was hit and miss but definitely there. Moved across the bay to Amity channel hit the first markers and worked that area still boating shorts. We did manage one at 19.5. Anyway was a beautiful morning we were back home 10.30.
