Granted, fishing from a bare bones yak it is sometimes hard to tell, but in three hours this morning had four fluke with one coming home for dinner. All on pink and white, the keeper took the homemade teaser with white gulp on the Lep rig. Still haven't bought bait since 2005 (sorry Billy W. at Combs, lol.) Slip gut a little worse and it was all over the boat ramp. S wind was tough but the wind against tide in my chosen area made for s l o w drifts. I am now up to a spectacular total of 3 keepers, none bragging size, but probably only ten or eleven shorts. Very little boat traffic (keeper came up when it was drizzling, and the wind driven chop with some whitecaps was "interesting." Saw a v-shaped flight of ten swans heading towards the Riviera (catering hall.) Never saw more than two at a time before.

No Stink Boat and no Stinking Bait ! I like your attitude! Whatever works . I was out Thursday with a little East Wind. 2 shorts/ a dogfish and a skate. Waiting for a big body of Fluke to set up somewhere inside Jones Inlet. Seems like every year they set up in a different area of the bay

If you're catching but not seeing the bait they're probably feeding on grass shrimp and small crabs.
