The new site is being developed at NewYorkAngler.com. I just did an SST chart, and I'd appreciate you guys checking it out and letting me know what happens.

I can’t seem to find it. Is there a link?

Slept late, just got into it now. First thing I notice is Long Island, meaning the land mass, is missing, as if it ever existed. Water is where it used to be.

I’ll explore it more and get back to you.

I know this is going to be hard to believe, but I'm arguing with the A.I. about it. If you reduce the opacity, you can see Long Island itself. I built these bots to push back, and this thing is a pain in the ass. I'm sure you guys think I'm nuts, but this is the new world.

A few minutes ago there was a slide bar which intensified or reduced the water temperature color. Now that seems to have disappeared, or I can’t find it.

Is there a way, or maybe it’s there and I just can’t find it, to have as an example an animation of eddys that spin off the Gulf Stream? Something similar to when you view weather radar you can see where the rain clouds have been, and where they are expected to go?

I don't think that can be done. Maybe it can but we're dealing with satellite images not video. And they only shoot the image when the satellite's in the right place so I don't think they'll ever be video.

Comparing it to the services that charge you 150 per year, I think it's pretty comparable to those charts.

The opacity slide bar is back but no matter where I set it Long Island no longer exists. I glad I moved off the island to Westchester. 😂

I think the graphics could use improvement. I cannot recognize the fathom curves. As an example, the chart below, you can easily see how the Hudson River carved out the sea bottom from the NY Bight out to the Hudson. I don’t see, or can’t recognize the trench, with all the depth contours, leading out to the Hudson. Or the east wall, the bombs, etc.

How often does a satellite get an overhead picture? I would think several times a day? I know nothing about AI but I would ASS-ume that AI is used in hurricane path projection? Can’t you just tell the AI bot to look at the last few days of eddy movement and take an “educated guess” where it will be tomorrow, and the next day?

I agree, compared to the paying services it’s a good thing. But as with everything in life there is room for improvement. Since the AI bots work for free can’t you just tell them to shut up and just do their job or you will pull the plug out of the wall and that will be the end of them. Or will it? 🤔

To be clear, the AIs I'm using are far from free. I'm spending a fortune, but it's fun. It will probably be short-lived, however, as the government has now stepped in. The wild, wild west of AI is over. We were getting upgraded models almost every day. Now they have to be government-approved. And trust me, they have no clue what they're doing because at the same time, the Chinese models are starting to surpass us.

Oh, and the EU has just been announced AI taxes, and we're looking at the same thing.

And I'm guessing you could be right, but there's so much involved. You got clouds. A lot of times they don't get the picture. It would be all basically assumptions, but I mean I'm like you say, I'm sure it could be pieced together, but it's only got one or two passes a day.

I got my favorite glacial shit pile, Long Island IS a terminal moraine, to show with a bit lower opacity and engaging the Ocean basemap
