Block Island Winter Cod
Capt Steven Sr reports a very weird day on the Viking Starship. We had a handful of keeper Cod along with some shorts and a few Bergalls. It was a tough bite maybe because of the east wind, strong tide or "Super Blood Moon"! It looked like there was a lot of life, but it was disappointing! Bruno Vulin won both pools with a 5lb and 7lb Cod.

Schedule Update:
Unfortunately the Winter Cod trips are cancelled for Friday Jan 25th and Sunday Jan 27th. Once again, this Saturday January 26 looks like our best weather day to get out this weekend! Capt. Steven Sr will be running the 140' Viking Starship hunting for Cod, Haddock, Pollack, Ling, and any other bottom dwellers. Last weekend, he marked lots of life on the bottom, but between the warm water and Super Blood Wolf Moon, nothing seemed to want to bite. We are hoping everything is hungry again and we can’t wait to go give it another shot! The trip sails at 4AM and returns at 4PM and the fare is $125. The Viking Starship has a heated cabin, full galley service, and we have plenty of fresh clams and chum! Call (631) 668-5700 to reserve, or book online at [www.vikingfleet.com.]('http://www.vikingfleet.com/?fbclid=IwAR3dRAvagBiDNlGvep033J3pTiUxHPK-dGLp9HOBjgqE3KBBG_s49AdA63c') Reservations are required.
We look forward to seeing you onboard!

Capt Carl was happy to report a very good Nantucket Wreck Trip! We had a sold out boat with mostly regular Viking fishermen, as well as some new faces, all eager to finally get out fishing after a long winter. The weather was absolutely perfect and the fishing was very very good with lots of keeper Cods, quite a few Pollock, giant Cunners, and even a Wolffish (that was of course released)! It was a fun and productive day with plenty of full coolers and after it was all done, the boys cut fish for 4 1/2 hours on the way home while the fishermen ate a delicious pot roast and scalloped potato dinner by chef Mavros. A good time was had by all and everyone had fat bags of fillets to go home with! Marius Chmieleuski from Lindenhurst, NY took first in the Cod pool with an 18 pounder, and Alejandro Mercado from Yonkers, NY took second with a 17 pounder. Walter Lesniewski of Lindenhurst, NY took the edible pool with a 15 pound Pollock. Sorry we didn’t get more pics, but the crew was very busy gaffing fish, icing down coolers, and doing everything else to help out the Anglers. We are excited for all of our upcoming Spring Offshore Fishing trips. Some are already booked up, but others still have availability so be sure to check out our offshore schedule and trip descriptions at [www.vikingfleet.com]('http://www.vikingfleet.com/?fbclid=IwAR1vACsCBCRa2eZcTiGOp1hNvlITivgerspkzToVZpcLTdCmd4ALjqJUkJw') or call our office at (631) 668-5700.
