This site will see some major upgrades in the coming weeks and months, by mid-week we will be migrated to new servers and then comes the first stage of the upgrade:

A totally new design with new features including the ability to upload videos, listen to the podcast on Alexa and on the site That's phase 1. We will also be hitting the ground running on social media with a full team to handle that piece.

The next phase will include tides, regulations, fishing reports, with the option to have them emailed as well as few other goodies.

It's exciting and tiring at the same time . . . but I love it!

I think we should come up with a few rating systems and let them vote on those. If we open it up totally, we'll never get any agreement, although that should be very, very entertaining...

curious as to what Crabby has. going Navy has the potential confusion (to non-military guys) of seaman, petty officer, ensign lieutenant, commander, captain and the ranks in between.
I was thinking more like paint-chipper, swabbie, first mate, skipper, etc. but the people familiar with commercial fishing boats can probably come up with something a lot better.

Poop deck is a term used in a naval architecture to define the roof of the cabin on the back part of the ship. A poop deck is essentially the stern deck of the ship. In a sailing ship, this poop deck is usually elevated from the roof. It is therefore easier for the captain or the sailor to have a view of the crew and have better navigation.
