My neighbor gave me a copy of the fisherman and I saw long beach magnolia pier. Its walking distance from the long Island rail road plenty of places to eat in the neighboorhpod also a rest area a feliet board if you get a keeper a tackle shop. Plenty of parking. Amazing setup. I started with the diamond jig I saw alot of peanut bunker and I missed a bluefish. That fishing stopped and I went to using worms and I caught 6 sea bass 2 sea Robins and a spot. Had a great time. I will be going back only if I can't go on a party Boat due to rough seas. Tight lines.

They used to be so thick in that area you could snag a bucket while flounder fishing.

Yesterday I went fishing at magnolia pier and the fishing was awesome. What a day of fishing. Had 4 different species of fish. 3 spots 1 bluefish one blowfish and 30 or 40 small sea bass. I bought two poles one for the blues and one for the tiny fish. Going forward going for blues at magnolia until they are gone. Tight lines

Perch can do brackish water. I used to get Yellow Perch at Whites Pool in Smithtown which feeds the Nissequogue.
