Captain's Table - Sea Bass Time

One of my loyal customers, Cindy, and her crew joined me yesterday for a half day Sea Bass trip in the Sound. Picture perfect conditions allowed us to set the anchor up quickly on one of my favorite drops just north of Plum.

It didn’t take long before the Sea Bass found our baited hooks and the action was very steady. Of course, a tremendous amount of sorting took place but by the time the dust cleared we had 12 nice Sea Bass find the box along with another dozen nice sized Porgies. Most of the better fish started biting during the last 30 minutes of the trip while I was cutting fish, so I had to rely on my customers to send me some pictures. Nevertheless, a great time was had by all.

With some cooler weather already making itself known on most mornings, it means that Blackfish season is not far away. Almost all of October is already booked but I do have some openings in November including a couple of weekend dates. Always better to act now as I know those will fill in too once the fall really kicks into high gear.

No problem, Matt. A few nice ones are often mixed in on the Tog trips.
