It's a bit ironic and puzzling because there always has been, and still is, the legal "Make A Direct, Huge Donation" method...

So the one kid gained 400 points by having someone else take the SAT for them. I am years away from involvment with the SAT. Is that 400 points added towards a possible top score of 1600, or is the top possible 2400 by including an essay?

Not sure about the score distributions, but I THINK the whole essay thing is almost totally dead in the water nowadays.

I believe this particular case was in reference to Lori Loughlin's daughter who's an internet blogger. One of her blogs from USC has her saying something along the lines of "I'm at college for the partying".

Now there's money well-spent!!

My shock is that those few who were spending millions used the shyster "coach" and didn't just directly go to the Alumni Fund Raising VP and ask "How much?" That is totally legal as it breaks no laws including tax deductions for a donation. I guess the "Nouveau Riche" don't know that way... :p

Iโ€™m not shocked at all. Face it celebrities and the rich carry around guilt the same as most people do. Working constantly and not around for their kids. I feel like I fall into this routine from time to time as well. It sucks and I hope my kids understand why Iโ€™m doing it. To hopefully give them a better life. Either that or their kids/significant others busted their balls so bad they just did it. Lol.
