They can backfire. There was an very attractive nurse talking with her older co-worker once and she remarked that the older nurse should gave Gary, a patient in room 5 a sponge bath to see the the remarkable tattoo he had on his pecker. The older nurse immediately ran out do do so, and came back in 1/2 hour saying what's so "remarkable" about the word "SWAN"?? The younger nurse looked puzzled and said, "Hmmmm, when I bathed him it said 'SASKATCHEWAN!!!!!'"

It's hard for me to believe i was in the Navy, stationed in Brooklyn and Bayone and never got one.

When I was in ROTC in the late 60s, early 70s, they were for "sluts and sailors." sorry, but that thought stuck to me. I was Army.

Sluts and sailors for sure but what about the Whalers, ? fishermen ?, Loggers, ? Indians? more than half the old natives from dozens of country's. Yeah tats have been around for eons. They are not for everyone , much like Volkswagen's or Grand Marqui's. . Some i consider Fine Art but that's me. :)

I have to give tattoo artists a lot of credit. I can draw pretty well, but if I fug up a drawing I can just get another piece of paper. These guys have to get it right the first time every time.

Skin has to be an interesting medium to work with too. Especially that shading. I guess it's like pixels. Just do closer or wider spacing between the dots to get what you're going for. I also wonder how they practice before they use someone's hide as a canvas. Pig skin maybe?

Have a friend that does portraits, might have him do it. He's just booked months out. The two portraits above he did. I can never get pics in order.
