Reparations for Slavery

It's called buying votes. You don't even have to succeed in passing anything to give actual reparations, just convince some voters that you're working to get them free money.

They will make the argument that the decendents have been deprived of and denied the "generational wealth" that gives their pigmentally-challenged oppressors a leg up on life. While it may have some validity when you look back to generation one or two that kind of thing can come and go within a generation or two. It doesn't take that long to create generational wealth, so at this point jpd is correct. It's a vote purchase. I would also point out that Democrats and The Great Society have done more to maintain that status quo then Jim Crow.
