Out of the way Restaurants

Stopped in last night for the first time for dinner with the Bride .... Very clean 'old school ' inside , nice looking Bar and a separate dinning room ... A lot of locals enjoying their dinner ..... Plenty of choices , good food , very nice staff , fair prices ...... We will stop by again ..........


Well that's newer than 37 years ago when I departed Sound Beach. Hell, they changed the name of "Rocky Point Road" to "Rocky Point Landing Road"???? Sauerbraten dinner photo on website looks very nice!! (y)

Here's one that's even remote for me, a 2 hr drive into the boonies of Maine. Don't even try to eat there, reservations given on a Lottery System. You're in luck though, you have until 4/15 to get them a postcard to be entered into this year's reservation drawing!!

Sound Beach / Miller Place / Rocky Point is definitely a unique piece of LI

I was trying to think of a place to bring my wife this week for something different and this is perfect.
She will love it, she is familiar with the area and it will bring up some great memories for us both.

For LI it is, the drive along Echo Avenue from 25A to my old Hood was a bit hilly considering LI is a terminal moraine, geology talk for a "glacial chitpile"...

Next stop will probably be 'Old Mill" on Sills Road in Yapank .............

I used to like the Red Barn in Westport. Place closed a few years back.

Damariscotta River Grille. 5 stars !! Not out of the way for Dom or myself But quite a drive for you'z guys. :giggle: (7 or 8 hours.) :eek:

What about that LI place you like in Wading River?

Wife and I did Hartlin Inn today in Sound Beach, really good.

NE clam chowder was awesome, had steak & shrimp DW had pot roast.

Great beer selections as well.

Will return for sure.
Plan on hitting the Old Mill next.

Was back in town today almost stopped in tonight ... Would have been around 7 pm ...
Ended up in that Chinese Rest that probably was a diner years ago , just east of Sills Road / 25A ..... Ok , nothing spectacular .......'Golden Chopsticks

The Hartlin was a lot of fun for us, we really enjoyed it.

We plan on going to Mill inn also.

Mill Inn is on my list as well , been plenty of guys wetting a line on that lake adjacent to the 'Inn"

Stopped by the "H2 0 " for dinner in Smithtown on the way home from Business out East ......
Special of the day ' 2 pound Porgy , head on , bones in , $36 .....:rolleyes:.......
Opted for Lobster Roll , pretty good ............

food is pretty decent there - the prices - not so much

That's quite the loose definition of "out of the way" being right on the main drag in a busy area:oops:;):D

Been up that way most of this month , fair amount of folks fishing that lake alongside the Mill Inn ........
