Just heard a report of a Women jumping from Overpass LIE exit 58. She jumped on the east bound lanes.
She was struck by vehicle, she was dead on scene and LIE was closed.

A massive fire broke out at Notre Dame Cathedral in central Paris on Monday afternoon, sending flames shooting out of the roof of the iconic landmark.
Fire officials told Agence France-Press that the fire was potentially linked to the renovation of the building and is believed to have started in the attic.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
“A terrible fire is underway at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris,” Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo tweeted. “The @PompiersParis are trying to control the flames. We are mobilized on the spot in close connection with the @dioceseParis. I invite everyone to respect the security perimeter.”
Dramatic images posted to social media showed the roof of the medieval cathedral engulfed in flames, and the spire of the cathedral collapsing into the icon church.

Terrible. This was a magnificent & iconic building dating to 1163..............
From what I'm seeing on TV - it looks to be a complete loss. Glad I was able to visit it.
Can't imagine all of the priceless artifacts that maybe lost.................

the entire roof has now collapsed & the fire is burning in the center of the structure - loss of the roof/ceiling alone is tragic - it was gorgeous

That was the one good thing about the French laying down for the Germans in WWII, most of the irreplaceable monuments stayed intact.
