What a difference a couple days make. We had a tough grind fishing with Ed and Dylan on their boat for cod/ black fish today. Not like Friday. There was a southern swell on the water and difficult wind against tide conditions to deal with. We all picked away at a couple dozen short blackfish and 4 cod . As usual, young Dylan was high hook in the keeper department with 2 market cod and a tog.
I managed a market cod and 7 short black fish and ed had about a dozen short black fish. Very tough bite today with the tog again wanting our fresh in the shell skimmers over white and green crabs. also helped that we chummed with the skimmers as well. I have not shucked fresh skimmers in years but convinced they made the difference . Only saw one other boat today. A bit nautical. CIAO, John
