Skunked on the yak this morning.

While I never liked flukeing on a full moon, I went anyway today. Even close to the houses the north than west wind and the last of the incoming made for a rotten wind against tide scenario in the back bay where I usually fish. Although I made a drift sock, I didn't employ it as I am only in the new yak the second time this morning. Planning on (and accomplishing) opening the pool made for a short paddle anyway. Had three Gulp curly tails bitten off and never even felt two of the bites. (Sure, bite mark indicated a really small fish, but 12lb braid and a sensitive rod ??) Still haven't done anything with the boat but I only use it a half dozen times a year now anyway. I am compiling a bunch of thoughts on my new yak, and will post reviews on various paddling websites. Hurricane Skimmer 128 is definitely a different ride than my old Hurricane Phoenix 140.
