Thanks, but is NYangler mostly about saltwater fishing? I searched and found no posts about fishing for freshwater species. I've fished many large and small lakes in N.Y. and done very well. I fish for different reasons than most, lure craft being one of them, and won't post unless I know the information is useful.

info about myself:
  1. served during the Vietnam War (gives you an idea of my age)
  2. been fishing since I was 10
  3. caught my first bass on a Mr Twister worm and never used live bait again
  4. make and modify soft plastic lures, skirted jigs and spinnerbaits and others; always trying to discover new lure designs
  5. fish from a 20' boat and 10' V bottom; always use sonar
  6. try to discover new things about the waters I fish, even though I've fished them for over 40 yrs. KNOW THY WATER! is my mantra
  7. caught striped bass in the tidal southern portion of the Huson R., but that's it for saltwater fish (party boats aren't my thing)
  8. I'm not into targeting lunkers - been there/caught them but still catch them. My thing is catching numbers of fish, regardless of size on lures I've made and/or are testing. Fished in three bass clubs, did well, but found it not worth getting up at 6 am to fish until weigh-in
  9. I dispel most of the reasons anglers give why fish bite lures or what to use and where, based on faulty logic. Lurecraft-based fishing and catching many fish in different waters support those concepts
  10. new discoveries and surprises, annually, make fishing worth the effort. ALWAYS! That and introducing buddies to new lures and patterns that put over 100 fish in the boat on certain days (i.e last week) gives me the greatest satisfaction.
  11. I post on many different forums under the user name Senkosam or Spoonminnow. I usually include photos of my catches plus the lures that caught fish. Many have shown appreciation for my detailed posts, which can be quite long (like this one ๐Ÿ˜‰). I avoid other forums that never reply to my posts.

Where would I post about fishing and lures that catch fish on lakes and ponds?

I always keep a photo journal on my PC with various folders:
  1. lakes fished and lures that caught fish in them, numbers caught and species
  2. lurecraft - mostly soft plastics separated in folders according to design, but recently the Chatterbait and the Beetle Spin - both handmade.
I usually post photos as examples of the ideas presented.
