Just got this e-mail from Geico:

WTF like these rates aren't high enough already!!!

Dear D-
I am the senior vice president of GEICO, your insurance company in New York, and I am writing to ask for your help. **The New York State Senate and Assembly are considering multiple pieces of legislation in the next few days that, should they pass, will likely increase insurance premiums for YOU and all New Yorkers, even if you've never had an accident.** If these bills are passed by the general assembly, they will be sent to the Governor for him to consider signing into law.

[Assembly Bill 5629-B]('https://click.email1.geico.com/u/?qs=33cb745dff94510bfb1b6a9d443b4eb441fb3d76d0a55fa9315e9494771881e6819073e0bae07330e8b88fb6e71f6af29b56b6fc0f825045') and its companion bill, [Senate Bill 3634-B]('https://click.email1.geico.com/u/?qs=33cb745dff94510b8a6d1bb2b190e1fc5f2e0695b146bffafe4cfc43d36ac19f694923d85dc870542c328a2cf1fd6068cd6ff8225f474741'), along with [Assembly Bill 5623]('https://click.email1.geico.com/u/?qs=33cb745dff94510b072aea4e76f54bb6f3f36401e6195c51c2e19d8318cfa2620164028946589f5f75b5ee7be7c756c7e2d94fb3a2f88576') and its companion bill, [Senate Bill 6216 ]('https://click.email1.geico.com/u/?qs=33cb745dff94510ba13eefe9f4b957dd992f0571208232cbe816940cd6bea798b34df05c225c21410623cb4c96f2b83bd9093b2f20433f5e'), are going to make it easier for trial lawyers to sue insurance companies and will have negative, long-lasting impacts on New York policyholders and taxpayers. **Why should you care?** New York families already pay over $6,000 a year per household to fund the Auto insurance tort system - which includes the costs to handle the cases filed in New York courts for negligence and other alleged wrongdoing. This is the second highest amount in the nation, according to the Institute for Legal Reform. I’m surprised you even drive, living in Manhattan.
Must be even worse keeping the vehicle stored
let alone insured

Yes it’s New York only from what it seems.
Just heard they passed a law stating illegal immigrants are allowed to file for drivers license. I hear people are outraged by it. ??‍♂️??‍♂️ Well at least now they’ll have to to register and insurance whatever they drive.
