[***[SIZE=5]Sanders admits he would raise taxes on the middle class to pay for programs[/SIZE]***]('https://www.yahoo.com/news/sanders-admits-he-would-raise-taxes-to-pay-for-programs-021852309.html')

Sen. Bernie Sanders, challenged at Thursday night’s Democratic presidential debate on how he would pay for universal health care and his other proposed programs, admitted income taxes on the middle class would have to go up — but maintained that the savings in medical expenses would more than offset the tax hike.

Sanders, who took the first question from NBC correspondent Savannah Guthrie, talked about his Medicare for All proposal for his allotted minute. But when Guthrie followed up and pressed him about taxes on the middle class, he conceded, “Yes, they will pay more in taxes.”

Guthrie said she would give Sanders “10 seconds just to answer the very direct question: Will you raise taxes for the middle class in a Sanders administration.”

“People who have health care under Medicare for All will have no premiums, no deductibles, no copayments, no out of pocket expenses. Yes, they will pay more in taxes, but less in health care for what they get.”

The question of [how to pay Medicare for All]('https://finance.yahoo.com/news/democratic-debate-medicare-for-all-health-care-014825904.html') has been a source of debate among Democratic presidential candidates. Out of those 24 Democratic presidential candidates, [14 of them]('https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/politics/policy-2020/medicare-for-all/?utm_term=.6050a94d5fd2') support some version of the initiative.

Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) recently [released a plan]('https://finance.yahoo.com/news/elizabeth-warren-finally-has-a-plan-for-medicare-for-all-133108047.html') that would cost more than $50 trillion over 10 years and offset the cost with a wealth tax and other mandates. The plan from Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) would cost an estimated $33 trillion over 10 years, though his team [argues]('https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/does-bernie-sanderss-health-plan-cost-33-trillion--or-save-2-trillion/2018/07/31/d178b14e-9432-11e8-a679-b09212fb69c2_story.html') that the changes would actually save money over time. Former Vice President Joe Biden’s plan has been [dubbed]('https://twitter.com/LizRNC/status/1150765350667112448') Obamacare 2.0. Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) released a Medicare for All [plan]('https://medium.com/@KamalaHarris/my-plan-for-medicare-for-all-7730370dd421') that would give Americans the option to either purchase Medicare plans from private companies or buy government-administrated Medicare plans. Another Democratic candidate, South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, [distanced]('https://finance.yahoo.com/news/pete-buttigieg-against-medicare-for-all-210207002.html') himself from Medicare for All.

The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CRFB) [released its analysis]('http://www.crfb.org/papers/choices-financing-medicare-all-preliminary-analysis') on legitimate sources to finance a hypothetical Medicare for All program, with costs projected to tally up to $30 trillion over a decade (similar to [projections]('https://www.urban.org/research/publication/incremental-comprehensive-health-reform-how-various-reform-options-compare-coverage-and-costs') from the Urban Institute).

and those of us who have Medicare would quickly tell you that without another health insurance plan many could find themselves in dire financial straits. The quote, "“People who have health care under Medicare for All will have no premiums, no deductibles, no copayments, no out of pocket expenses (which is not Medicare at all.) Yes, they will pay more in taxes, but less in health care for what they get” may be accurate but the middle class will take it on the chin to pay for it.

Not to mention all the left leaning unions are now realising there jobs are now on the line with these Health Care (Socialist) proposals. My Union sends no propaganda like they used to for their once preferred party.

Ms. *I Have A Plan For That's* Plan has a major flaw in it. If she tried to tax the capital of the 1%, like her plan for the "Wealth Tax", the 1% have the wherewithal and mobility to say "See 'ya Uncle Sam" and move themselves, their private companies, and their holdings out of the country into a more tax friendly country like Bermuda, Bahamas, Channel Islands, etc.

So after 5 or so years, the income stream needed to fund this falls off and guess who start making up the shortfall???

Guess she don't have a plan for that...

Maybe if he had a few uninterrupted minutes to actual work on governing and not fending off the pack of wolves constantly harassing him he could get something done.

I would vote for a middle of the road republican before some of the Democrats seeking the nomination.

I liked this, not because I agree with it, but at least it's more of an honest view than the usual leftist stuff you post. Keep up the good work.

That’s your opinion. Constant barrage of horse hockey starting before he got elected and continues to this very day.
