Was just looking at the nutrition label on a jar of tomato ? sauce...

It say per serving 6 grams of Sugar, three (3) of those is added sugar, probably white sugar... not good white sugar, and 4 grams of sugar is equal to one (1) teaspoon... 16 oz regular non diet soda has 56 grams of sugar = to 14.5 teaspoons of sugar...
too much for me, hope my arithmetic is right...

this link / chart is interesting...

Tricky part is look and see how much tomato sauce is considered one serving, it's a miniscule amount - hardly enough to cover a decent bowl of pasta. So you wind up using "3" servings of pasta sauce.

Interesting American Italian vs. Native Italian debate. We Americans routinely use a good 3 - 4 times more sauce, gravy, whatever, than our Italian Forefathers. I've started switching from the huge bowls of pasta family style, to individual servings and I do use much less sauce in the process, or in the case of non-tomato based sauces like white clam, put the pasta in the PAN, that I made the sauce in. Once again, much less sauce used...

Serving size is a total scam across the board. (n)

I use the no sugar added ketchup, you can taste the difference at first but after a while can’t even tell.
