ok i went 0-4 in finding a decent fluke bite this month, so i switched it up and target summer blackfish and triggers. Fished dutch island.
Very slow fishing, 2 short blackfish and one huge triggerfish. Saw a fluke follow my rig to the boat! hmmmmm???????
At the pier at the end of the day i saw a ton of herring schooled up. Hmmmmm the bait has changed!!! Previously only silversides were in that area.
Went back the next morning with sabiki rigs caught the herring and got in to some awesome fluke fishing. Caught seven the first day just kept the biggest 4.5 pounds and a 17 inch seabass . Also fished today and caught seven more and kept the biggest one. Everything else released. This was my last summer fishing trip. Back to work over seas soon. tight lines - Bowarrows
