Fluke fishing

I can honestly say that in all the years that I have fished for fluke this is the worst year I have ever seen in my life. I always use a four ounce hammered gold jig. I am good with it and I stick with it . in the past I have done great with the gold jig with fluke. I have caught 24 inch fluke had 6 to 10 lb fluke. Hopefully I can turn it around in Sept or this will be the first year in my life without a keeper fluke. I have 5 or 6 shorts the season. Weather permitting going on the ocean eagle this Tuesday

no keepers since June for me. using livelined snappers for a month but only a few weaks and small blues on them. seems like there is so much bait in the backbays that my presentations simply do not stand out. I am not complaining since this year for me was wayyyyy better than last year. Must be some new website...

I have caught beautiful fluke on the diamond jig every year. Had close to my limit last year had 24 to 30 inch fluke on the jig. When I had my boat I stopped on the bait or fish under the blues. Had a 26 inch fluke under 10 pound bluefish the lady flamingo had close to a 12 pound fluke under the blues.

The last 3 weeks have probably been my best fluke fishing in the last 5 years. The beginning of the season was horrible with all throw backs but the last few times have been great with fluke from 21 to 24".
