Fishing has been pretty piss poor since the main body of fish left my backyard in the later part of August. Finally had a more "normal" September evening this evening. Was dead calm when we got home from dinner out so I grabbed the boat keys and sashayed down to the boat. When I hit the pier I noticed the entire river between me and my "across the river neighbor" was full of small bait. "If the bass would only find this!" Got on the boat, took a few casts with no result and cast off, intending to stop at my favorite early incoming spot, 1/4 nmi away. Then the bass found the bait. Motored like 100 yds and killed the engine to pick up 6 fish to 25" in 10 casts. To complete the evening's festivities there was this magnificent moonrise over Chez Roccus...
