Same thing in great South bay by Robert Moses. the blowfish destoyed my GULP! offerings. but not all lost. guy next to me was slicing up GULP! remnants and catching loads of tasty northern king fish. That GULP! stuff is awesome.

Sheesh, blowfish and kingfish, 2 of the tastiest fish in the sea. I'd gladly donate my Gulps to a bucket full of this deliciousness...
Hows come it's OK to have cocktails obliterate your Gulps, but not our bucktoothed friends??? No contest there on dining potential...

with a nice marinade on the barbecue or bread and egg on them in the air fryer, we love them bluefish ! and they get themselves hooked. I have no fun at all pulling in a blowfish. Hard to tell they are even on the hook and I use a light 6' Tunami Slimwave with a light reel and light fireline. My setup may as well be a freshwater UL once the snappers get to the 10 inch size. but I do wish the kingfish would find my hooks !

For kings try attaching a porgy hook as they come with the mono leader and one of those small sinker with the brass eye n them directly to your snap swivel, tiny peace of squid strip.
