Having spent over 30 years fishing for Blackfish in LI Sound, the one thing I realize is that as fishermen, we will never figure them outl Yesterday's report discussed conditions that most would find unfavorable for Tautog so we left the dock today with more optimism and found that most of the fish caught were on the small size and at about 11:30 they just shut down. And they shut down on pieces with known populations. Finally at about 1:30 a tentative bite resumed again with many small fish, but "Angelo", pictured here still managed his limit with another fish that was co- Captain Bob's. 2 of these fish went just under 5 lbs. Still hopeful for the upcoming season to be better than last years! Remember to fish that shallow structure.
