Sorry for the late post--just learned about this site.
Saturday's forecast for MTK called for the N wind to drop around 10am, near the top of the flood. So despite it still blowing 20kts at that time, my buddies and went out in my cc. It was rough and there were birds near Shagwong. But there were also standing waves, one of which broke over the bow of boat, which never happened to me before. So, we left and drove west in search of blitzes.
We went as far as Ft. Pond Bay by noonish when the wind finally laid down with nothing to show for it. We ran back east until we found the schoolies which were on peanuts (or maybe snappers). Whatever they were on, they liked metals and poppers. Tried the long wand but there was some boat traffic so I couldn't develop a rhythm.. We left them biting remembered that a forecast is just that. Tight lines.
