Checking In

I've been sidetracked working on anther unforesceen project running our music verticle of 31music and outdoor forums. So I wanted to check in with an update on things.

We did excellent for our first season with approx 4k users a week. It hasn't resulted in many sign-ups, but they will come once we force them to as we add content. Anyone interested in writing an article can email or PM me and I will send you our writer's guidelines.

We now have a weekly newsletter that basically runs on autopilot. I'm still learning it and once I do I'm going to volunteer the General to monitor it :)

We have numerous features developed on the backend, but developing within the forum software has been a challenge so things are moving slowly but we will begin rolling them out soon.

The fact is you guys and girl, have been contributing a ton of content. And the more content we have the better we rank in search. 60% of forum traffic comes from organic search, and it takes time to get there. Especially when Google is changing their "algorithms" every other month! We now have a 2-person team just dealing with our SEO.

We' re in great shape with social media with the highest traffic local Instagram account with over 10k users thanks to Anthony.

The bottom line is we've had a great first season. NYSDEC is keeping a close eye, the industry is watching and 4k users a week is nothing to sneeze at. And the fact is I have you folk's to thank for it.
