My younger son and I took a trip on the 7B's out of R.I. yesterday, we left the house around 3am and arrived at the boat at 5 pm, there were several people already on the boat, we were scheduled to leave the dock around 6pm.
I took our rod setups and put them in the back of the boat, my son parked the truck and we sat inside to stay nice and warm, it was 31 degrees and still windy, thought for sure they might cancel.

As we sat there, people started to show up, more and more, I thought that they probably over booked because they weren't able to get out the last couple of weekends do to high winds.
50 + people were on this trip.

Left port at 6am, still quite breezy, headed out the west wall and as soon as we got out into open water it was 3 to 5 footers.
Boat headed to block to fish the wind mills, little over a hour and we made our first drop, I immediately hooked up and brought the first fish on board, 15.5 in, had to go back, these fish were eating good, big and fat.

My son hooked up and caught the first keeper for us, a nice fat 17 in. tog.

He caught another, one a few minutes later, and then another one, all 17 in. fish. I couldn't do anything after that.

There were 12 anglers across the back of the boat, the competition was fierce, we made several moves and I hooked into a few more shorts, my son was doing the same, I was getting a little annoyed with the amount of people in the back, friends of people were coming back to see how the fishing was and a couple just dropped right in between my son and I, we took a break between the next drop and I sat with my son and talked about how we need to step up our game, I decided to try something new with whole crabs, I trimmed them up and cut the corners off the shell, leaving me a nice chunk of meat, I put the hook right threw the back to the front, on the last drop, I caught 4 keepers to 6.5 lbs, the tog were actually running with the crab in their mouths, the last fish I caught was a surprise as I was tangled up with 2 other anglers, and when I was finally free I started reeling my line in, when it came tight I thought I was hung up, a few minutes later, I had my biggest fish of the trip.

In all we had 7 keepers to 6.5 pounds, pretty good considering the competition we had.
Several triggerfish were caught along with bonito, which were all over the place, the water temp was 53 degrees.
Really like this Boat, mates were great and Capt. Russ, did his best to put us on the fish.

If time permits, I might go out again, if the water temps remain in the low 50's it should be ok.

Wow, what a great job for u and your son considering the antics of some of your fellow fares. But you persevered and put together a good catch against tough scenario. (y)

Yup, anybody who had a smartphone was tracking the trip, where we were fishing were not secret spots as I talked to Russ before we left, also the track lines are just general in nature and don't depict any specifics numbers.
Sorry if that bothers you.
