Tried one of the drops that held some fish in the central Sound on Wednesday’s prosecting trip but the current was running too hard to fish it effectively even while trying to stem.
So, we headed to a more friendly current flow closer to the CT shoreline and found a good body of fish to work on for a couple of hours. Although the keepers were all between 16.5 and 17” at least the guys boxed 7 fish today while throwing back about 25 more. So, I would call that a minor victory at least until we start seeing a more consistent number of better biscuits join the party.
Judging by the photo they sent me as their catch was about to hit the grill, I think they had a good time and satisfying dinner.
